Gain an introduction to the tools and techniques of effective storytelling in this beginner’s class. We will delve into the hows and whys of the storytelling art. The focus of the class will be to help new tellers find their voice through the use of exercises and discussions. Prior experience is not necessary, but a sense of adventure is a must.
Ted Cooley has been involved with the arts since childhood. His interests in Appalachian culture led him to a master’s degree in Reading and Storytelling from East Tennessee State University. Ted also plays mountain and folk music on several stringed instruments, some of which he built himself. He enjoys teaching storytelling and music workshops and is Resident Artist of Storytelling, Folklore and Nature Studies at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Warne, NC
