This course will examine Luther, Calvin and Henry VIII among others. Special emphasis will be placed upon their theology and the Roman Catholic response to it. These religious changes will be examined to better understand how they manifested themselves in wars, providing a cause or at least an excuse for them. Although primarily a lecture course, ample time will be given to questions and discussion of this very important age in the development of European history.
Dr. David Franklin, Professor Emeritus, was a History professor at Young Harris College from 1979 to his recent retirement.
