These four sessions will examine Islam. Using text, audio visuals and group discussion, the course will address the following subjects: who was Mohammed?, the history of Islam, the Quran, Islamic beliefs and practices including the four pillars of Islam, Islamic mysticism and its influence on the West, misconceptions about Islam, Israel and Palestine, and is Islam a religion of terrorism?

Pat Mahon is a retired Georgia educator with 37 years experience, serving as a high school principal for 23 years.  He also taught school law for the University of Georgia and Georgia State. He and wife Joan, also a retired educator, live in Young Harris. They are members of the Pax Christi Florida State Council and participate in Pax Christi at Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. William.
