What Is ICL?

ICL aims at a broad range of adult interests. The curriculum is structured to appeal to the physically active as well as the seriously studious. A sample of courses might include aerobics, antiques, computers, contract bridge, gardening, genealogy, investing, music, natural history, woodworking, painting, sculpture, languages, and writing. The Institute's curriculum committee continually reviews members' interests and expands the curriculum accordingly.

People are ICL's greatest asset. Hundreds of folks in north Georgia and western North Carolina have enjoyed its classes -- and made new friends. What's amazing is the number of ICL "repeaters" -- students who keep coming back for more courses. Teachers are the jewels in ICL's crown. In their specialties, they range from Young Harris College faculty to regional experts in fields as disparate as ecology and finance.
